Outreach

A quiet, behind-the-scenes ministry providing confidential assistance to many families and individuals on the Island throughout the year. Outreach is supported entirely by charitable donations from our generous parishioners, including donations from the Paul Robert Carey Foundation, as well as donations to the Giving Tree at Christmas and money collected from the votive and poor boxes. 

The Apostolate provides help with heating, medical and utility bills, education, transportation, funeral expenses and purchases food and gift cards throughout the year. It has no expenses or salaries. Every penny of your donation helps people here, on our island. The recipients count on the money received and are grateful. Last year, over $26,000 in goods and services were given to Islanders in need.

Our annual special collection for the Outreach Apostolate was on July 25 and 26 but it’s never too late to donate! Donations may also be made here on our site (Please see under Give tab.) If you prefer, a check may be mailed to our office at PO Box 3027, Shelter Island Heights, NY 11965. Please mark Outreach in the check memo.
